Corresponde a 8.13.17.1.4. 4 K´an 2 Mol (11 Octubre 314 d.C.).

This motif is taken from panel 1 of La Corona in Guatemala. La Corona is a small Maya site which was an ally of the powerful Snake dynasty of Calakmul. The inscription mentions the construction of a sanctuary for a god of 84 blowguns in a mythic place called Wak Mih Nal on the date 9.12.5.7.4. 4 K´an 7 Mak (27 October 677 AD Gregorian). The next date 4 K´an 2 Mol is in the past. It corresponds to 8.13.17.1.4. 4 K´an 2 Mol (11 October 314 AD). The event is the arrival of the mythic figure Ahnel Tahn K´ihnich to a place of 10 lakes. It is interesting to note that the distance between both dates equals exactly 170 Mars years of 780 days. The next distance number connects with the date 9.11.5.9.4. 7 K´an 2 Woh (21 March 658 AD). On that day there was the inauguration of the sanctuary for the triad gods Yaxal Ajaw, K´an Chahk and Chak Wayaab Chahk by Chakaw Nahb Chan, father of the current king K´ihnich Yook Akan. On 9.12.1.6.13. 9 Ben 16 Mak (6 November 673 AD), K´ihnich Yook Akan travels from La Corona to Calakmul. Six days later, on 9.12.1.6.19. 2 Kawak 2 K´ank´in, he arrives in the presence of the great king of Calakmul, Yuknoom Ch´e´en. We know from other inscriptions that a few years later Yook Akan will marry a daughter of the king of Calakmul. Twelve days later, on 9.12.1.7.11. 1 Chuwen 14 K´ank´in (24 November 673 AD), K´ihnich Yook Akan participates together with six other young men in the ritual of the presentation of the baby of the prince of Calakmul. This inscription does not mention their names. It is likely that the prince is Yuknoom Yich´aak K´ahk´, who at that time was 24 years old. The grandson of the king of Calakmul was probably Yuknoom Took´ K´awiil. This ritual took place in Mahsul. On 9.12.2.15.11. 1 Chuwen 4 Sots´ (28 April 674 AD), the prince Yuknoom Yich´aak K´ahk´ and Kaloomte´ Wayis emerge from a cave. On 9.12.3.5.0. 7 Ajaw 13 Sak (24 September 675 AD), K´ihnich Yook Akan is crowned king in the presence of the king of Calakmul. The inscription mentions how much time passes from the coronation to the moment of the inauguration of the sanctuary of the 84 blowguns. It also mentions the distance from the mythic date 8.13.17.1.4. 4 K´an 2 Mol. After that, the inscription goes back even further into the past. On 11.4.19.0.4. 4 K´an 7 Sak (8 September 3805 BC), a mythic figure called Yamak Ha´ leaves Ti´l Ha´ to go to Wak Mih Nal. The inscription ends with some round dates into the future. Those are the dates 9.12.10.0.0. 9 Ajaw 18 Sots´ in the year 682 AD, 9.12.15.0.0. 2 Ajaw 13 Sip in the year 687 AD and 9.13.0.0.0. 8 Ajaw 8 Woh in the year 692 AD. There are two figures in the center. In both cases it is a portrait of K´ihnich Yook Akan. The short inscription on the left says: “He is throwing (incense) droplets on the day 3 Ajaw, K´ihnich Yook Akan, the magician.” Considering that he was crowned on the date 9.12.3.5.0. 7 Ajaw 13 Sak (24 September 675 AD), the first anniversary of his coronation would be on the date 9.12.4.5.0., since the third position in the Long Count corresponds to the years. This falls exactly on a date 3 Ajaw, since the Calendar Round for this date is 3 Ajaw 8 Sak. Therefore I think that this 3 Ajaw date refers to 9.12.4.5.0. 3 Ajaw 8 Sak, which corresponds to 18 September 676 AD Gregorian, or 15 September 676 AD Julian. On the right side, we see K´ihnich Yook Akan during a ceremonial dance wearing an intricate back adornment. The short inscription says: “This is the image of the back adornment of Yook Akan.”

Oktober 314 n.Chr.).
